APSRTC Good News: New convenience in Vijayawada‑Hyderabad bus service – you can board the bus right near your home.

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has launched a new bus service between Vijayawada and Hyderabad. Passengers can board the bus directly from the stop nearest to their residence, thereby reducing travel time.

APSRTC Introduces Major Change to Vijayawada‑Hyderabad Bus Service

The Andhra Pradesh state transport department APSRTC has introduced a significant change in the bus service between Vijayawada and Hyderabad. Previously, passengers had to board buses only at major bus stations, which increased travel time from home to the station and added extra transportation costs. Keeping this issue in mind, APSRTC has launched a new scheme called “Bus Close to Home.” Across the state, small bus stops are set up at over 150 selected points, from where passengers can board the super‑fast buses running between Vijayawada and Hyderabad directly.

In this service, APSRTC uses 12‑seat, 24‑seat, and 45‑seat buses and operates 10‑15 trips per day. The buses offer Wi‑Fi, USB charging ports, and easy booking via a seat reservation app. To enhance passenger convenience, ticket prices have also been revised, offering a 5‑10 percent discount compared to previous fares.

According to an APSRTC representative, this scheme is expected to reduce passenger transport costs, decrease road traffic, and contribute to environmental protection. To meet the growing demand for employment, student, and business travel in the state, APSRTC is ready to expand similar “Bus Close to Home” services to more cities and rural areas in the future.
