AM/NS India, the Indian subsidiary of the U.S.-based AM/NS Corporation, is a leader in automotive parts manufacturing in the country. At the same time, ICAR‑IARI (Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Indian Agricultural Research Institute) serves as a premier research hub in India’s agricultural science, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the productivity of rice, wheat, milk, and other crops. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two organizations aims to strengthen the integration of agriculture and industry nationwide, develop eco‑friendly materials, implement precision farming technologies, and advance research to convert agricultural waste into valuable raw materials.
According to the agreement, AM/NS India will provide funding, technical expertise, and state‑of‑the‑art laboratory equipment to establish a research center at IARI dedicated specifically to “sustainable materials and bio‑plastics.” The center will conduct research to design low‑carbon, robust, and environmentally harmless automotive components using crop residues, crop ash, and other agricultural waste. Additionally, agricultural scientists at IARI will collaborate with the AM/NS India engineering team to develop methods for increasing crop yields through precise crop management, data‑driven decision making, and AI‑enabled sensors.
